About Game

Ms. Game Mothibi is a Consultant at Sport Management Agency (SMA), a company, she co-founded to contribute to growing sport, women and sport and effective implementation of sport for development and social change initiatives. She is also a Co- Director at newly founded Echo Trust which aims to empower athletes and drive community developments using sport as a tool. She is a seasoned sport administrator and a leader, with over 20 years of experience working for national and international sporting organizations. Ms. Mothibi is a renowned women and sport and children's rights activist who has a footprint in Botswana and internationally.

Mothibi serves as a Global Executive member of the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) for 2018-2022 and has been reappointed in the IWG Executive Board for the new host of IWG 2022-2026, as Africa Representative. She also serves as Chairperson of Africa Sport Venture Group Board of Directors. She is also Vice President of Phenomenal Africa Women Botswana Chapter. She co-founded Women Sport Africa Network, which she now serves as the Secretary-General. She also served as a Board member of Botswana National Olympic Committee. Through all these, she acquired valuable experience in corporate governance and sport leadership and management.

She is the former Secretary-General of the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) for quadrennial 2014-2018. She led a productive and result oriented IWG Secretariat, which culminated in a successful 7th IWG World Conference held in Gaborone, Botswana, in May 2018 and was attended by over 1200 participants-the highest number of participants for the IWG World Conferences.

She worked for the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) as Special Projects Officer then became Director, Games. Highlights in her career include being part of the task team that revised the UNESCO charter of physical Education to become The International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport. She is also course contributor of first online global course on sport and sustainable development.

She holds master’s degree in Sport and Olympic Studies from University of Tsukuba in Japan, which she was part of 5th batch of The Tsukuba International Academy of Sport (TIAS), a Tokyo 2020 Olympics legacy programme sponsored by Sport for tomorrow (Japanese Government).
